Last year, we celebrated the musical magic of native Angeleno, Etta James in our show Etta At Last, as part of our ongoing season L.A. Composed: A Festival of Los Angeles Music. Etta James was known for masterfully blending the best of the American sound—from blues, R&B, and soul to rock, jazz, and gospel. After the show, we brought performers direct from the MUSE/IQUE mainstage to the community, as part of our Offstage Education program. Vocalist Kecia Lewis and musician/producer Chaz Mason join Artistic Producer Heather Lipson Bell as we explore the music of Etta, and how our MUSE/IQUE musicians prepare for the spotlight.
